You can try accepting the default setting to 'Halt on source errors', the first time around. With 3ware, I could find a quick-and-dirty setup: make cron run hourly a script that contact by ssh the ESXi and runs tw_cli command line tool to query the status. So, now I'm balancing between the choices if I should set up 4.1u1 with 3ware, or 5.0 with MegaRaid. I already purchased MegaRaid 9260 card which is supported in 5.0, but I won't feel comfortable it it either -yet. I just was about to set up my first ESXi 4.1u1 system, when I noticed that 5.0 is available. I've very little experience from ESXi, but sort of 3ware addict. Unfortunately, the Update 1 may be anywhere from weeks to months.
